Dear Friends in Christ,
Mel Goebel, a former prisoner himself, was released from prison in 1976. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Communication from the Universtiy of Nebraska. Mel worked for Prison Fellowship with Chuck Colson for 20 years. He now serves as the CEO/Founder of Impact For Life Ministries/Daughters of Destiny. His conversion and commitment to Christ is chronicled in his book The Unseen Presence.
Annie Goebel, also a former prisoner, was called by God to reach women in prison. Having earned a Master of Science degree from Black Hills State University she helped found the Daughters of Destiny prison ministry and now serves as president.
The need is real. There are over 500,000 women and teen girls currently incarcerated in the U.S and an estimated 4 million children with a parent in prison with the statistical numbers growing each year. We believe this cycle of despair can be broken and healed through the love of Jesus Christ.
Our doors are open to you. Thank you for taking the time to tour the website and learn more about us and what we do. We pray that the Lord sparks a passion within you to join hands with us. Together we can glorify Him. Together we can serve Him. Together we can impact lives for Him.
Serving Christ in humility and sincerity,
Mel Goebel, CEO & Founder Annie Goebel, President Daughters of Destiny
